safe > 100 %

just that your laptop takes what it needs
meaning your adaptor is underloaded
NOT laptop overloaded

use a 9000 watt one if you can & it's equally safe on your laptop
# just an exaggeration to prove my point, equally safe that !

EDIT:
both posts above and below me suggest otherwise
DO NOT mis-guide people if you do not know

Snagelfritz: thanks !
the bigger adaptor is no use in a laptop, as far as catering to extra's and peripherals, cause these are pretty much not upgradeable in case of laptops
the only effect it would have is, batteries get charged quicker

asen is correct!!!
Yes, it should work. The main thing is not use too low a watt output. Say yours is 70w and you use a 50w. The power requirements of the computer may burn out the adapter.
Many people upgrade Power Supplies on computers to handle add-ons like extra hard-drives and USB stuff. So, 90w give you the extra to handle any little extras you want to plug in.
The link is Newegg. This power supplies for Desktops!!! Notice the different Watt sizes. They work in any computer. Many people will add extras like Hard Drives and Graphics cards to a computer with a Stock 350W and wonder why it blow out. When adding more stuff people use 500W or more.

Its not the cord, that's the jack on the laptop. The contacts interior the jack are wiped out. occurred to my Dell too. become surely a huge concern with all of the final era Inspiron laptops. while you're under guarantee, touch dell for a fix. If not, then you somewhat would be determining to purchase the cost of a motherboard replace (the jack is soldered the excellent option to the board).

Thats about 20W more than you computer can handle. Talk about a shocking Development. You can go out and get a universal.. However, doing so could inheriantly void any warrenties you have with your laptop. Your best bet is to go out, spend the $$ on the actual power cord replacement.
