My laptop is HP dv9310 us with AMD 64 X 2 processor , running a 32 bit vista. It currently has 1 GB of memory and i'm thinking of upgrading it to 4 and if not possible 2

the Crucial site is a good start, or also try READING the manual it comes with / calling HP support ???????

The physical memory inside the laptop is limited to 4GB of RAM, however, you can use an 8 gig flash stick with speed boost to give your machine that extra boost.

I would recommend you upgrade to at last 2 gigs of RAM, as that is the minimum recommended requirements to run Vista smoothly, and if possible max out yoru system by installing (2)
2 GIG sticks of ram (for a total of 4 gigs of ram).
