i have dell inspiron 9400, nd i cant play dvds.. :S .. well i was able 2 play dvds b4 i format my laptop..but then..now i cant !! .. am really upset..please help

When you reformatted you also erased the DVD player software. You should have just used the recovery CD to bring the computer back to factory settings.
Install the DVD player software provided by Dell or you could opt for Power DVD.

Did you a) reinstall the correct graphics drivers from Dell, and b) reinstall the DVD playback software from Dell?

your laptops graphics engine is not very strong.
these flimsy laptop graphics are easily broken or damaged
