by overclocking,it just means changing the front side bus of the cpu to make it run at a different speed than what the manufacture states.go to the links below and that should help but beware overclocking makes the cpu run at a hot temp.the last link is a very good guide.

See if your board will handle a bigger cpu and if so buy one.
Forget about overclocking a laptop especially 25% as youd fry the cpu real quick because laptops just dont have the airflow needed to handle the increased heat.. I doubt you can even OC it. Go into bios and see if the clocks are greyed out. If they are you have no overclocking capabilities.

if you have a desktop then just put in a new chip. sounds like you have a laptop. you'd have to overclock it. use forums to find out. most likely you can't though
