Turn it off, you will be fine and your router will probably work better next time you turn it on. I turned mine off for a fortnight whilst in hospital in August and mine works OK, and I plan to turn it off when I go in hospital again this coming Sunday. Apart from anything else you will be saving electricity and money in the long run, lol:-D

Edit
So who is the thumb down troll?
Forgot to mention I have Sky broadband too and their wireless routers always seem to work better after they have been turned off.

there could be an IP conflict with the IP you used while on holiday, and the router DHCP server isn't smart enough to know that the IP/subnet you laptop may have is not acceptible so it doesn't tell the PC to renew and send out a new DHCP_req. Start by clicking "repair" in the network window. That flushes out the cache and clearing all known IPs from you PC and sends a fresh DHCP_req to the DHCP server (your router). That is assuming your router is set up to automatically assign IP addresses and you weren't just using static. Also, go into your wireless card properties and look for the Preferred Network list and clear that out, as windows is not smart enought to correllate ESSID with MAC. Do these and Scan for Available Networks, and then do a fresh reconnect.

No why would you do that? Your laptop should be turned off if your going to be gone for a while simply because a computer actually uses a decent amount of power, unless its in hibernate or sleep mode

The power consumption of a router is completely negligible, and there shouldnt be an issue with security if you have the router set up right. If someone wanted to get into your network they would have the entire time its been up... really not something you should have to worry about

Well, if no one will be using it, you may as well turn it off too. Save some electricity.
