Im awaiting the arrival of my macbookpro and I was going to use it for gaming(WoW, BF2, and so on) Until I start college. I was going to use the bootcamp software to play these games. I was wondering, Is it possible to get viruses or to screw the mac up through windows xp via bootcamp? Or is it still almost impossible because ill still be using my mac?

In order install Bott Camp on my Mac, I need to have "the latest firmware updates" according to the Apple website. I can find them for the Macbook, Macbook Pro 17", Macbbok Pro 15" core duo, but I can't find the update for my 15" Macbook Pro Core 2 Duo.

I know they exist, but I can't find them! HELP!

I have an old Zenith Data Systems Z-Note 325L. I have seen places that sell the adapters, but they are rather expensive. Is there any way to make or modify an AC adapter to work with it? Machine is pictured here: http://www.zdsparts.com/images/znote32f.jpg

the TSA agent "frisked me" and when he was done, put the wand near my laptop. I tried using it but noticed the charge was 0%! I plugged it into an outlet and it still worked. I hope the battery is still ok....it's charging right now. Would this have drained my battery and is the battery ok ya think?

Im doing engineering physics hopefully branching out to nuclear engineering. Ive finished year one and my PC- Laptop crashed.
Now i need a new one and im keen on the macbook pro. I need a laptop for:
1- word/excel/powerpoint 2-messenger/chatting/ etc 3-internet/adobe reader/etc, 4-watching movies/music, 5-other university programs like Flexpde/autocad, etc that i may not know of
So the questions at last.
Should i go for a mac? Is it a hassel to divide and work on both OS's on a mac?Does mac meet my purpose or as an engineering student or should i stick to the PC? Or is this whole mac or PC thing is blown out of proportion and at the end both are good enough for my needs? I cant afford more laptops till i graduate university, so this choice will be my last and i dont mind spending big for the one last time. Please advise.im torn between going out and trying something new, fancy and promising or sticking to the world i know the best with its known ups and downs. Thanks in advace

well I'm shoping for a new or used laptop and I came across this site with laptops as low as 49.00. I found this to good to be true but not sure if I should purchase from them. Here is a link to the site. Take a look at some of the computers. What would you do? Do you think this is a scam site?

I have an IBM X40 laptop and I want to be able to recharge it in Europe. Can I do it with only a plug adapter, or do I need to somehow convert the voltage? Or can I buy a power cord which will allow me to safely charge it overseas?

My touchpad won't respond to me tapping it. The cursor moves fine when I run my finger over the touchpad, but it won't do anything when I tap it. What has caused this? What can I do about it? I installed three Windows updates last night, and then another one this morning. Could this have had an affect on the touchpad? I have tried restarting, but it hasn't helped.

All answers (providing they're serious) are very much appreciated. Thank you very much.

I'm having some trouble with audio on my HP Pavilion zv5255us laptop.

The sound card/audio does work so I know it's not a problem with the drivers, but I can only get sound when I apply pressure to the laptop, usually near the headphone jack. This happens when trying to listen through the speakers and through headphones. I've recently bought a Turtle Beach Audio Advantage Amigo to help the situation and it does work perfectly with headphones but I don't think there's a way to have it work through my laptop speakers. As I travel a lot I don't want to have to buy external speakers to listen to audio without headphones but I am willing to do this if necessary. I should also note that I will by buying a new laptop in about a year so I don't want to make any costly repairs/upgrades on this laptop.

Thanks in advance for any help or suggestions.

When I first turn on the computer, afte the dell screen and right before the windows splash startup screen, i get this blank black screen with a gray bar on the bottom loading up with a long continuous beeping noise. It just started this yesterday and I called DELL support and let them listen to the noise and they said there wasn't any beeping code that long in their books.

Can anyone tell me how I can fix this WITHOUT having to reinstall windows? (btw, im running windows xp pro)
