Yes. If it is a new router you will have to connect to it via a Cat5 cable to set it up initially, but after that you should be able to use the wireless only option.

Yes. When you first configure your wireless router youll have to make a physical connection to your laptop via the ethernet cable. However once the connection has been established youll be prompted to remove the ethernet cable and then youll establish a wireless connection (follow the steps on the CD). The only cable running from your router then will be the one running into your telephone socket, your laptop will no longer be physically connected then.

I recommend AOL, they'll send you a free router and the CD installation is fantastic, a trained chimp could install it with the CD they provide. If your laptop isnt wirless ready, you will have to get a wireless adaptor for your laptop.

You will need to conenct your laptop to the router via a ethernet cable to configure the router. After that is done, unplug the ethernet cable and go wireless. I assume your laptop has a wireless adapter. After that you can change settings on your router from your laptop using the UPnP devices that are available in your "My Network Places".

yes. Its wireless so you don't need to plug an ethernet cable in to anything. My uncle had his laptop connected to his wireless router with no main pc and had no problems. If you want to be 100% sure call a computer shop and ask them.

I don't believe so, i'm not a 'techie' but all i know is that routers are built to form a network, and without a main computer you won't be able to have a network and connect to the internet. But heyyyy what do i know?!

No, just buy the wireless router and hardwire it in to the laptop first and setup your router then you shouldn't have to hardwire in anymore.
