My mouse recently and suddenly began to slow down alot. My laptop is about a year old. I try to use it and it takes a few seconds to respond. It's really annoying. What could be the problem and how do I fix?

Smooth scrolling option cause slow response over time. This option causes slow scrolling because it redraws the screen each time the mouse is moved instead of drawing the single image. For example if the mouse is moved 30 pixel places, the screen has to be withdrawn 30 times to meet the command. Follow the instructions below to stop slow scrolling.

1. Click "Start"
2 Click"Control Panel
3. In the Control Panel, click "Internet Options"
4. In the Internet Options menu, Click the "Advanced" Tab.
5. Scroll down and uncheck "Use Smooth Scrolling" option
Hope this helps!

So you have an external mouse for your laptop, and you're not using that little pad on the keyboard?

Also, is it a laser mouse?

If isn't a laser, you probably just need to clean the little ball inside. Flip over your mouse and turn the cap/dial counterclockwise (to the left) on the bottom where you see the little mouse ball. Pull the ball out and dust it off, maybe blowing inside a little to clear out any debris. Replace the ball, twist on the cap again and your mouse should perform better.

If that doesn't work, maybe you need a new mouse! Probably has nothing to do with your laptop.

Hey,
The first thing to do to speed up pc and get rid of malwares and viruses is cleaning the registry with a program like CCLeaner http://bit.ly/UrAuos
It's a very simple and nice software.
Good Bye

Well it shouldnt be because of the mouse that your laptop is slowing down. Probably your has very limited disk space now. Try doing doing some de fragmentation to see if you can free some space.
Whats the configuration like?
