So I am probably going to go out and get a laptop today mainly for school use and some gaming, I was wondering if anybody knew
( OR from experience) if I should get Sony, HP, Toshiba, Acer, Apple, or Compaq. (I heard Dells are great but me personally I am going to be biased by saying I do not like that company... sry) Any help would be appreciated . Thank you.

I have a Toshiba Satellite P25-S5092 running Windows XP SP2. When I try to connect my Nokia 6800 phone via infrared, nothing happens. Infrared is enabled in BIOS & Hardware Devices. Any thoughts? Thanks.

first question:i have a old ibm thinkpad running m.e ,its not a bad little notebook for typing tasks but it only has 48mb of ram,i rally want to make it at least 64mb,however the memory required is a edo so-dimm module and i cant find any on the net avalible,is their any sites that do that type of module
secondly,i have a cable and wireless pcmcia network card,but it dosent sem to work on this notebook,is this because of the memory as it cant be the operating system as it says m.e on the box
any ideas ?

I have a Compaq Evo N610C laptop with an Intel pentium 4Mobile 2.0GHz @ 717MHz, and was wondering if the new laptops with Intel Core Duo or Intel Core 2 Duo were any faster? I generaly edit photos and video as well as the other normal stuff! Thanks :-)

Those are very cheap or do I need the set specifically made for laptops that runs about $70-$100. I don't want to ruin my laptop by not having the right power adapter when I use it in the car.
