can someone tell me what type of battery and voltage is used for the cmos battery ? and if all cmos use the same. thanks.

You never need a hardware engineer. When it comes to personal computers, hardware "pros" are overpayed to do **** easy work. A CMOS battery it a small 2032 button cell battery. It keeps going even when there's no power to your computer (like, completely unplugged no power). For instance, the date and time. Ever wonder how it keeps track without being on? That's a CMOS battery. You can stop by your local Walmart and pick one up for no more than $5 dollars. Then you just open up your computer, find where the old one is, and replace it with your new one. There ya' go, done. No "professional" needed.

Most all mainboards made in the last 5 years use a 3 Volt Lithium battery like this :

best to take the battery out and take it to a computer store that way you'll get it right make sure you unplug the computer from the mains first, and be careful how you take it out or you could blow your bios
