What do you mean by best? Fastest, or best for all-day use?
For all-out speed, find a "Gaming Laptop" or "Desktop Replacement Laptop." These are the truly hardcore and are really fast. But their batteries die out quickly.

For battery life, an average laptop with mid-range components will last much longer than a gaming laptop, because the faster the laptop, the more battery juice it uses.
It's all on your personal preference.

1. CPU
Core 2 Duo, all the way. Get this. It's fast.
2. RAM
2 GB is standard.
3. Graphics card.
For the very best, go to Alienware.com and try to get 2 7950 graphics cards in SLI. It'll cost you at least thousands.
