I am in the market for a low to mid end gaming laptop.....I mostly play WoW and FPS's like halo, css, and far cry. I currently have a 3 year old laptop with a 64mb geforce go 440 that actually plays all those games listed pretty well....problem is its only a direct x 7 card and its starting to get old.....these are the 2 new laptops I'm looking at...

LAPTOP #1.......$900
intel centrino dual core 1.73 ghz
256mb geforce 7400
80 gig hd
1 gig of ram

LAPTOP #2.......$810
AMD turion 2.0 ghz single core
256mb geforce 7200
80 gig hd
1 gig of ram

Both these laptops are the same brand/model just the cpu and gpu are diff. I am usually an AMD man but if the 7400 is a big jump from the 7200 I'll go with intel.

Let me know what you think.

Hi! I had headphones plugged into the jack while listening to music and I went too far and yanked the headphones out. The sound on my laptop still works, but when I plug in the headphones, the music does not go through to the headphones. I really need to use the headphones in public places that are meant to be quiet, so is there anything I can purchase? I called to have the jack fixed but it will cost a hundred dollars (around this figure at all places I called) and this isn't covered under my insurance plan.

I am recieving this error message before the BIOS is loaded up: "The Device in the system modular bay cannot be identified. It may not be completely inserted or may have some other problem. Please read and complete the following steps.

1. Press the device completely and firmly into the bay.

I'm planning on buying a laptop: either a Toshiba Satellite or a Sony Vaio. Here’s the thing, they are both a $1000, however, the Sony has an Intel Core Dou, and the Toshiba has an Intel Core 2 duo (1.6GHz). What differentiates the two processors? Don’t they both have dual cores?

My husband needs a laptop that he can take in his truck. We have a remodeling/landscaping business (also new construction) and we need to know what we would need on the laptop. He would use it for the business only but we'd probably need a lot of memory for invoices, customers info., etc. Anyone have any idea what would be best for us?

It has been getting progressively slower and slower and nearly impossible to get back on if the screen saver comes up. My roommate also deleted a bunch of stuff because she said if it hadn't been used in awhile it's probably not needed. She is dumb. So is there anything I can do other than take it to some geeks to fix it?

I personally think HP is the best and affordable computer brand for laptops. I like this one especially: http://www.shopping.hp.com/webapp/shopping/computer_can_series.do?storeName=computer_store&category=notebooks&a1=Processor&v1=Intel&series_name=dv6000t_series

But that's just me. What do you think is best and affordable computer brand for laptops?
