Depends on your definition of Internet use.
Are you talking just e-mail or are you playing games online? Are you uploading files, or just surfing the web?
If all you are doing is minimal tasks like e-mail and such, go with a cheap one, like Compaq or HP. If you need it to perform heavier tasks, look into Dell. I've owned them all, and recommend Dell anytime to anybody. Best customer service after the sale of any major computer company.

There are thousands of things/activities that you can do on the Internet. So, if you want an intelligent answer, make a list of things that you want your laptop to do for you and revise/re-post your question.
