they are right in your internet opinions, cause i have a laptop too, only way to go. If it is for the wireless, then you have to enter your key when you hit connect to that wireless net, if it is securited.

usually when you attempt to access a security-enable network, it will prompt you for the Passphrase or Network Key. (You usually have to enter it twice)
