yes, you can leave it plugged in, but make sure it's plugged into a surge protector to protect it from electrical surges. Leaving it plugged in won't hurt the battery.

You can leave the laptop connected, but make sure it is plugged into a surge protector just in case. To check what your laptop does when you close the lid:
Right-click your desktop and select Properties
Click the Screen Saver tab
Click the Power... button at the bottom of the window
Click the Advanced tab
Under the lower section, labeled "Power buttons", check what is selected for the "When I close the lid of my portable computer" field.

You can leave it plugged in all the time. I would go through the Windows shut down process. Just make sure it's not on all the time they over heat. Again, just do a normal shut down them close the lid and you will be fine.

Side note is you should run it on the battery once in a while and let the battery get low and then let it recharge.

Sleep, hibernate, or close down are all superb it makes little difference. Leaving a working laptop or pc working for long classes does not injury it in any way the two, its purely as much as you and what's handy. I say its stable practice to totally close down through fact if a working laptop or pc isn't used each thing would besides be saved and closed yet that's purely an opinion. even though i'd advise leaving the pc plugged in on each occasion attainable even while became off and not in use, it relatively is wholesome for the battery to maintain it plugged in and could no longer use a number of of your electrical energy except it needs to cost itself rapidly.

Don't ever just shut the screen to turn it off, its very bad for it. Trust me that how I blew my last screen out. I wouldn't leave it plugged all the time, but most of the time is no big deal.

Yes you can leave it plugged in and in the on position.

What you have to do is to enable the power saving controls for the screen to shut off and hard drive to power down. You can also reduce CPU speed to lower heat output and to save wear and tear on the fan.

We have many laptops at work plugged in and powered on for 3-4 years.. no problem.

Most modern laptops default to a "sleep" mode when the lid is closed. You can configure it via the control panel, in most cases.

You can leave it plugged in forever, it shouldn't hurt the laptop. The idea of "overcharging" your battery does not apply in this case, since most modern laptops are smart enough to know how to regulate the charging.

you can close the screen to shut it down but you will have to set it up that way. you can do that from the control panel - power options. leaving it plugged in over night shouldnt hurt it, make sure you have a screen saver running though

cheers

You can leave it, and it won't damage laptop. Closing the screen won't shut it down, but will put it in hibernate - a power saving mode.

Yes. No. Depends on your power settings. Go to Start>Settings>Control Panel. Open Power Options\ Power Management. Under the Advanced Tab, find the box labeled "When I close the lid of my portable computer". Select Standby. This will put your computer into Standby mode. When you open the lid again, Windows will be right where you left it.
