I went though this before but now nothing is working.

IF my computer is unplugged for awhile it takes a long time to turn on.

I open the power box and i hear this constant sound like a cricket but it is the power box. I press the power box but the computer wont turn on there is no lights on night even the lan light. All the wires are on i checked it already. The fuse is not burned out my comp is old so i clean out the dusk regularly.

ok the thing is taht my computer was really fast but ever since i installed photoshop cs3 and microsoft office 2007 my computer got really slow and everytime i turn it on it takes like ten minutes to load completely and i am not even kidding. i do not have any virus or spyware since i already checked and i have a great anti virus program (that is not the reason why my computer is slow either) i have 890 mb of ram and 140 gbs that ia m not using. what can i do to make it faster. i already did a disk cleanup and i pit the spyware thing and nope it is the same nothing happened. i heard about pc booster...is this a good program to make my computer faster or what? please help.

i have only 2GB empty space in c drive [ total - 10GB] .but there is only 4GB of data in it .
i usually install all games and s/w in other drives .
but yet there is very few space in it !
i did defragmentation but its of no use !
pls help.

I have put in USB PCI card into my ancient computer and it doesn't reach the case, therefore I can't put the screw on. =( I've checked twice the card put into PCI correctly. What do I do?

I have a Packard Bell. XP HOME

The computer won't boot at all, and dosn't seem to be searching the hard drive when loading.

I asked this question before and got told to put the disk in and select repair, but I don't have this option. I only have the recovery DVD for the computer and when I put that in all I can do is a system restore. However I have so many files and programs which I won't be able to get back, and which I need desperately.

What Can I do?

Step by step instructions and quick response appreciated.

I bought a computer from my friend that's missing a hard drive, so i put in my 20 gig hard drive from an emachine which had the emachine form of windows i guess? Anyways the hard drive works in the orginal emachine but when i move it over to the new computer it flakes out and wont load. I get the list of five options; safe mode, safe mode command, safe mode networking, last settings that worked, start windows normaly. Anyone of thoughs i pick it goes to the blue screen of death. I put the hard drive back into the orginal emachine computer where it came from and installed a windows xp home edition that doesnt have all that emachine freeware and stuff on it but yet when i plug it in to the new computer its still not starting. O ya, i know the jumpers are right because it works on the other computer, the new computer also does read the hard drive to some extent because in bios it shows the serial # and how many gigs are left, and i also tried changing the ide cable with no sucess.

My gateway laptop froze during a restoration. I didnt know what to do, so I left it alone for a couple of hours hoping it would snap out of it. It never did so I had no choice but to turn it off. Now every time I start my computer a window that says "driver apllication" appears, as if it were going to continue the restoration process, but then freezes.

this poped up when i went to watch a movie on my computer using windows media player 9 Windows Media Player cannot play this DVD because a compatible DVD decoder is not installed on your computer. and where can i get it free have a dvd burner istalled on computer dvd-r and that is the kind of dvd i am trying to watch!

I just got my ASUS M2R32-MVP motherboard today and I installed everything off the disk that came with it, but whenever I try to install the sound driver, it says the hardware isn't available, but I know it's there because it's built right into the motherboard. And the flip 3D screens where working then stopped and just went pack to how windows xp would have been, its weird. i like the pretty pop ps and i cant find anywhere on the computer, the display controls or anything. i called my computer people and they want me to bring it into a place to have it checked, but my husband needs the computer for school, we donthaev time to take it down there for something like this. but the 3D features are so cool, i really want it back. help please

I partitioned my hard drive a few days ago while using vista to install ubuntu and i have realized that my windows has started slowing down a lot since i did so but my ubuntu is working fine. I want to know if there is any way to undo this hard drive partition even if it means to restore it to factory settings with a recovery disk. Thank you.
