how can i switch the processor in my computer?
also im looking to buy one, which one should i buy

If you are not that familiar about processor types and what you have right now, it is very likely that you may not be able to do it right.

First of all I can tell you are an extreme novice for not even mentioning what you have already.

Your first step is to find out what kind of options you have.

1) What socket is the motherboard?

Socket A (also know as socket 462)
Socket AM2
Socket 775
Socket 470
Socket 939
Socket 7

*** This information is usually stamped on the socket itself on the motherboard; however it is better to use the motherboards model and look up the specs because you'd have to do that anyway***

2) Find the model of your motherboard and look it up online to see what cpus will work. Also determine if you need a bios upgrade/flash.

3) Go shopping.

4) Get some instructions online. They are everywhere. Here is one place.
