It depends mainly on your motherboard not on the processor.

I pretty sure your motherboard will support up to 2gb(check the manual to be certain and which type it supports).

For the hard disk, again check the motherboard manual for which type of hard disk it can support ( there is IDE, SATA, SATA2)

IDE being the old connection type
Sata being the latest and faster connec. type

The HD should be no problem, but you will not notice any benefit. HD size should be based on need. Bigger is not necessicarily better data access time is more important. In fact, high end computers are now sporting only 32G solid state hard drives and high end gamers consider the best hard drive bang for the buck the 72G WD raptor. You can always add a SECOND HD or an EXTERNAL HD if storage is your goal. Remember, the bigger, the more that is lost if it crashes. You might want to look in to "RAID" as an option too. If you use 2 drives, use one for the OS and one for storage. If you have vista, you can also use a thumb drive to increase speed with readyboost.

As far as your RAMM question, the other guys are right, we need to know the MB. However, we alll know that the celeron D is socket 775 and most mb that support that will support 2-4G of DDR2 SDRAM. I recommend installing twin chips of 512 0r twin chips of 1G. Hopefully your MB will be able to work in dual channel mode.

To answer that question we need to know which mother board you have not the processor. But it does sound like your pc will not have a problem with 1GB ram or a 160GB+ drive.
