If so, which is the best and is it even worth it? I have Vista Home Premium, AMD Athlon 64 X2 4200, and 1918 (the "1024 MB" that came with the computer only registered as 894 MB) MB of RAM (which i plan to add at LEAST another GB, hopefully 2 GB in the next few weeks). I realize I could buy a PCI-E video card that is MUCH better but I'm not THAT into gaming on PC. Thanks

Ok, I am going to purchase a computer later this year. Problem is I don't know to choose HP or Dell. What do you think? And also, I am wanting to get a computer that works great with games. So I was thinking a 3.0 GHz processor and 2gbs of memory for under 600 dollars. Need some help. Thanks!

I have a Dell 172FPb. The monitor works for a second, but then turns off. The power button continues to flash (green) on and off about once a second. The monitor self test doesnt work, so its not a computer, video card or cable problem. Just wanted to get the thing open and see if i have a bad connection on the power connector. Any comments appreciated.

I have never encountered a problem such as this one. I have a Dell Dimension 2400 Desktop. When I turn it on, It powers on for 3 seconds or less, then turns off by itself, then after 1 or 2 seconds, turns on automatically. I hear something but it doesn't sound like a beep; it's very faint. Also, there is no display. After it turns on fully, everything seems to operate normally on the tower. You can see the power light on, fans on, motherboard light on but no display. I have Windows Xp Pro and there is no video card. The monitor is plugged into the on-board VGA port.

Any ideas?

This shoudn't be happening, but it is....

I just got a new Intel Core 2 Duo 6600, and was multitasking like mad, having Netscape Navigator going with about 10 tabs, an anti virus scan going and iTunes was playing music-and the computer was hiccupping. What is up with this? I thought Core 2s weren't supposed to do this?? I guess Intel's statement that with the Core 2 you can:"Do more at the same time, like playing your favorite music, running virus scan in the background, and all while you edit video or pictures. "-is a bunch of crap. Is this processor related, which I'm thinking it is?

I also tried to play a game online, Command and Conquer Generals, which isn't that intensive-and the game hiccupped also. I closed itunes and most of the other apps except for navigator, and the game was still stuttering. Cpu usage was about 3/4's of the way up on both cores during this. Could the game stuttering have been due to my router or the cpu? If it is the CPU, should contact Intel?

Both seem to be high quality processors, especially how I'm jumping from a AMD Athlon 64 3200 to that, I think it will upgrade a lot. My question is, is there really a big difference, because the 4800 is 20 dollars more, but the specs look kinda the same.

Can someone explain to me the difference? (and how much)

Have been sold one on ebay and the description was for the other one. Want to check I have not been ripped off. Also which one is best etc.

How much better is the second processor? I won't be using the laptop for any major gaming, but I will be using it for other multimedia. Is it worth the 50$ upgrade, or will the 1st option be just as good for my purposes?

1.) Intel(R) Core(TM) 2 Duo processor T7100 (1.80 GHz, 2 MB L2 Cache, 800MHz FSB)

2.) Intel(R) Core(TM) 2 Duo processor T7300 (2.00 GHz, 4 MB L2 Cache, 800MHz FSB)
