I need to keep the ifo on the hard drive. So what I am asking is how do I get rid of a partitioned hard drive and make it a single hardrive without erasing the info that is already on it. I want to keep the hard drive in the system and use it but want to make it bigger by making it one hard drive instead of 2. Thanks.

I've been getting this message "Your sound card doesn't support hardware buffering". I'm running Windows XP Pro. I have a Creative Sound Blaster PCI card. It also tells me the same thing with the built in card on the motherboard. I used this same card on a Dell computer and never had that problem. I have also noticed a drop in the quality of the sound in videos and some mp3s. Can anyone help?

Please read the question criteria. On any system (I now use windows XPpro but may go to linux) you want it to be at the best performance it can be. Please don't answer with the most obvious answers like defrag, clean up files.... I realize when you keep installing more programs on a pc the system usually slows down from processes running in the backround. Please base your answer on a freshly installed operating system with no added programs. You may think the system is as fast as it can get but there are still programs running in the backround. I was told there is a keystroke you can press to manually accept programs to start, maybe that would be a great place to start... or would you say linux is faster? And I also realize it depends on how your computer was put together with which hardwares that work together or conflict

I'm planning to build a system. I was thinking of getting a full tower case because the extra room helps circulate air better and thus run cooler. Is this worth it? I don't plan to do SLI or over-clock my CPU. Is there any benefits to running "cool"?

Ok, I have an old pc with a ok GPU. The GPU is a Volari V3XT AGP with 128mb of GDDR2. I know, why would you want that card!! Well, I got it for $12 on the internet and it sure beats an integrated S3 Unichrome IGP! It worked fine for a few months, but then I started to see pink lines all over the screen, then half of the time my computer wouldn't start, then finally my computer wouldn't start at all. To date it still won't start with that card. I've had to resort to the S3 Unichrome. Does anyone now what is wrong? My pc specs: AMD Athlon XP 3200+ (Barton Core 2.4GHz, 1200mhz FSB) 1GB of DDR 200GB HDD.

I am saving some money, what ever is left from my bills, to buy a laptop before i leave for college next january. I found these two that i like, can you tell me which one is better? I am familiar with laptops, but not brands for speakers, sound, performance. I am an amature gamer, so something that won't blow up will be great... I haven't played WoW yet, and dont plan on it. Thanks
HP dv6000t- Core2Duo T5600 (1.83GHz/2MB),
1GB memory, 256MB NVIDIA GeForce Go 7400, 80GB 5400 RPM Hard Drive,

Dell Inspiron E1705- CoreDuo T2350 (1.83 GHz/2MB), 2 GB memory, 120 GB Hard Drive, 256 MB NVIDIA Ge Force Go 7900 GS, Integrated Sound Blaster Audigy HD

The Dell will cost me $1,368 and the HP $1,211... I understand the cost should be balanced with performance but honestly, I'm not sure what to look for. Thanks for your help. Sorry if I sound alittle lost.

I'm getting a power supply upgrade from 250 W to about 400-500W becuase of my 8600 gt card. I just want to make sure that power supplies are compatible to all computers. For example, it won't overload my motherboard or something. I am currently using an hp a1740n.

Also, the requirements on the box of the graphics card said 325W power supply running on an intel core 2 extreme x6800. Does that make a difference? I am currently running an intel core 2 duo E6300.
