I've been getting this message "Your sound card doesn't support hardware buffering". I'm running Windows XP Pro. I have a Creative Sound Blaster PCI card. It also tells me the same thing with the built in card on the motherboard. I used this same card on a Dell computer and never had that problem. I have also noticed a drop in the quality of the sound in videos and some mp3s. Can anyone help?

Start by going to Creative and downloading the newest drivers and applications for your sound card. Sometimes windows uses "generic" drivers which cause issues like you are experiencing.

Go to the Creative/Sound Blaster web site and look in the Support/Downloads section for the latest XP drivers and install them.

Also, did you turn off the "built in" sound card?
It may be that the "built in" and the PCI card have some conflicts.

Hope this helps.

try updating the drivers. Change the card to a different PCI Slot. If it does not resolve your problem the windows might be corrupt.
