I am using dual screen - laptop screen a big desktop screen. I work a lot on Excel. When I open up two excel files at the same time, they stay on the same screen, I mean I can minimize them and look at them that way, but I want to find a way to move one excel file onto the other screen, and one screen stays on the laptop - but excel won't let me do that...Any ideas? or anyone know how to bypass that so I can have 1 excel file showing up on one complete screen, and another excel file showing up on the big desktop screen. I am using MS Excel 2003 SP 2

My husband is always saying how slow our computer is always running.I think it runs average. He says he can be on and use his work computer in three X the amount of time it takes to even get on the home PC.It seems logical to me to believe that a work computer would be built different,(faster, and able to hold more technical material)than a laymans PC.His lap top holds much technical material, whereas the home PC hold s minor homebased work. Our home computer is slower than his,but i believe they were both built different and for different reasons. Also the home PC holds 4 users for our family and his laptop uses only one.I think these are reasonable assumptions, but Im not sure I'm right. He always thinks there is something wrong with our home computer.I argue that it's fine just different from his.

Alot of the cheaper computers you see for sale only have 1 GB of RAM and maybe up to 256 MB of shared memory, yet they come with Vista Home Premium often times. Can you comfortably take advantage of Vista with these sort of specs, or do you really need more ram or a dedicated video card? I know that more is generally better, but would I regret buying a comp with these sort of specs?

Hey all! I'm looking for a new desktop in the $600-800 range and these 3 seem to be the main choices for processors. Alot of the bargain Dells have the Pentium D or Athlon X2 chips and pricier ones seem to use the Core 2 Duo. I know you can't compare clock speeds and stuff like you used to anymore, so what's a good way to compare them? Would I be OK with a pentium D or is that old technology? I'd be running a new computer with Vista and hope to get some years out of it. Also, from alot of what I've read heard, your RAM and video card may play more of a role in your computer's performance than small differences in processor specs.

Any info/advice would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!

There is a straight white line appearing on my laptop screen. It runs across from one end to the other. It suddenly started appearing.

Does one here know the possible cause of this and how it could be fixed.

Many thanks in advance.

I ran a virus scan and found two files corrupted in the C drive and 7 in the F drive,. And this is slowingmy computer down, causing it to shutdown automatically and then restart. I've got a copy of windows, but its not the original CD i used to install windows on this PC. I have partition magic v8, so im wondering, if I can reformat the F drive since its on a separate hard disk, and install windows there, while uninstalling windows on the C drive and then reverse the process once C drive is cleaned up?as you can see , its complicated so I need expert opinion . thanks
