Those beeps are telling you that there is a major hardware problem with the PC. It probably took some kind of a power spike from the charger.
Boot the PC and listen carefully to the beeps. Pretend they are "morse code", and see if you can determine how many beeps - long, short, etc - you are getting.
Then go to the manufacturer of the PC and look for "Error Codes" or "Bios Codes". It should tell you which hardware device is causing the problem and probably need to be replaced.
If you are careful working in the computer, you can try reseating the memory and any other plug in cards and see if that resolves the issue. May just be a loose connection.

Connecting the cell phone charger to the powerstrip did NOT cause this issue.
There can be many causes, and it depends on the number of beeps. The best thing you can do is disconnect all power and all peripherals (everything connected to your computer) and reconnect them, making sure the connections are good. Then try to restart. If that doesn't work, you may need to have an expert diagnose the issue.

Repeating beeps (endless loop) usually means memory error. Try reseating memory modules.
1 long and 2 short beeps means video card error.
1 long, 3 short beeps means no video card or bad video ram
Repeating high/low beeps mean CPU problem.
So, just observe the beeps and you will have an idea of the problem.

Sounds like he has friend some components within the computer. Without seeing the inside myself thats all I can say. Take it to a computer specalist ask him to open the panel up and check the components.
