I ran a virus scan and found two files corrupted in the C drive and 7 in the F drive,. And this is slowingmy computer down, causing it to shutdown automatically and then restart. I've got a copy of windows, but its not the original CD i used to install windows on this PC. I have partition magic v8, so im wondering, if I can reformat the F drive since its on a separate hard disk, and install windows there, while uninstalling windows on the C drive and then reverse the process once C drive is cleaned up?as you can see , its complicated so I need expert opinion . thanks

Try this to repair your OS first.

Then scan and clean twice w/ different anti-virus (preferably w/ Kaspersky).

Worked for me 3X on different PCs and w/ one of our peers here.

Reformat is for the desperate and therefore should only be a last resort.

You can't. You either reformat it and lose all of your Documents and Pr0ns. Or you can buy a new one.
