Hardware - March 2007

I presently have a 512 memory stick in slot (1) of my computer. I am looking to add another 512 in slot (2), but finding the exact part number is turning into a nightmare. The stick that came with the computer has part # Samsung M368L6423FTN-CB3
It gets confusing with the 10th digit (letter F). I can find sticks with all the correct numbers except instead of F I find E G D and so forth. Can these sticks be used or must I find the EXACT part number?

has anyone used a 8800gtx and if so whats it like,and what psu do you use to run the beast
also as i havent seen it on a system,can you s.l.i the 8800 cards,as if you can you would need a hell of a case and a industrial generator to power them

I'm a novice at computers, when it comes to latest technologies, so please forgive me if this sounds stupid.

OK, I have a little less than 1G of RAM, desktop, Intel Celeron M 420 CPU @ 1.60GHz, (whatever that means), I use WIN XP and Real Player 10. I've put about 17 or 18 CD's on it, will this amount be ok? Is it ok to put any more this? If so, could you please give me some kind of guidelines to go by?

I currently have Google Earth (along with several add-ons) installed, about 4 spyware programs, 4 browsers, a couple news/temperature prog,. A couple TV players, 4-5 media center add-on's, and a couple screensavers I downloaded. And ofcourse my 17-18 CD's and anti-virus, but that's about it. Drive C: shows, (used 12.3GB), free space:165 GB, capacity:178GB.

ok, so i found 2 cable from the usb port like this:

and then i found a usb header on my motherboard like this:

is that the correct way to connect the cables to the header??
because i saw that the header on the mobo only has 9 pins...while the usb cables (2of them ) has a total of 10 pins... plz help >.<

It has speakers hooked up but it keeps sayin there is known. I tested the speakers n thy work fine, why won't the computer recongize it?

Hey! My laptop, an Acer Aspire AWLMi, has a wireless switch next to the microphone/headphones jacks and when i do it, a light goes orange, which I guess is on. But, i cant find it under wireless connections, and it clearly says "Wireless LAN" on my box. But i dont know how to activate it. Help please.

on second computer i have had it has 2 gigs installed and working just fine. on the comp im having trouble with i tried re seating the ram and still only showing up and 448 mb well in the bios it sees it as the full 512 mb so someone help me here

I have an ati x1800xt 512mb video card and a 3.0 p4 cpu. I play games like Lock on and Armed Assault and I notice that my frames per second drop to the teens when shadows are enabled. Is my graphix card the problem or is my cpu not powerful enough?

I'm t hinking about buyign an E6600 Core 2 duo but will that take care of the shadow problem?
