Nethack. There are some sites that give you guidelines on how to run older games, for the ones where you must slow down the CPU in order to run them.

Well, I use ScummVM and DosBox to play my old games like Maniac Mansion1 and 2, Sam and Max, etc., etc. However, some of the really old ones like Laura Bow don't really work.

For Vista, I think you can safely say that most DOS-based programs won't work anymore.

Though I've been wanting to dual boot win 98 with winxp, I've found out that having over 1 gb of memory won't work too well with 98.

i do know that "The Ultimate Doom for Windows 95" works on XP
Warcraft too
but other than that, i dont know

and DOS wont work on vista
this is because vista uses a totaly new kernel, which is the core of the operating system
teis new kernel is not compatible with DOS

DOS does work with XP because it has a modified NT kernel
they basicaly took the one from 2000 (i think) adn modified it to work better with DOS

i hope i didnt confuse you too much there with all teh kernel talk
