Do you mean you've lost the key itself? Or do you mean when you press the key it doesn't do anything?

If the former, get a replacement key from a dead keyboard at a computer shop. If the latter, try taking some canned air and carefully blow it around the area of the key in case some dust has gotten jammed into the keying mechanism.

Check windows to make sure all setting are defaulted to English, sound like you keyboard is set to the US! you will probably find typing the # or some other duel function key will bring up the @ symbol. How did you type @ in your question?

Ummm... Well I have never heard of symbols or lettering dissappearing off of the keyboard. They normally stay there. Anyway I would go get a new keyboard or look a little harder for it. Dont really know what to tell you. sorry

Check if your keyboard is on EN settings.

If you get really stuck hold 'Alt' and then type 64

If you are using windows XP then go to control panel and click on regional &language settings .Make sure it is set on uk english .

omg i have the exact same problem i cant type the at sign it comes out like " all the time, i think i will hang around here for some answers, thanks alot for posting this question
