For example, Dell only now offers Blu-ray drive in models such as XPS 1710 which cost several thousand dollars. Sony is actually cheaper than Dell, but the cost is still over 3k. I mean not everyone wants the extra cost of a gaming laptop to enjoy the benefits of Blu-ray. Why is a Blu-ray drive not an option in cheaper laptops? I doubt many companies will spend 3k or more just to have Blu-ray on a laptop. Why are laptops with Blu-ray not being sold that in a manner that will cater towards business use rather than home use?

i have a 3 year old sony vaio with windows media center, it has 3.20ghz , 1gb of ram, and 200gb's of hard-drive space. it runs with no problems, but how much longer should i have to wait till i get a new pc?

i do allot of video editing and movie creation at home as ahobby. How ever i was wondering is tehre someting else besides getting a bunch of external hard drives to store all the infor? For instance like one unit i can add ore space to with out spending 4 grand? i have just to many external hard drives and not enough ports to use them with lol.

no problems right......? Wrong I've a few (3) extra gatherings of wires that obviouslly need to be attatched as my computer won't reapond. where to check to find out what wires go where ..... Hp doesn't support my old computer as it's out of warranty, Please help with solution top my minor issue that is a huge frustration as you all remember when you started , so come on and pay that forward and if I'm able to do the same for another I'll gladly do it./

my partition drive D is not accessible . its type is ntfs. it do not allow to copy data from it . its properties shows that its type is raw . this all happened after i installed an unregistered folder lock .i managed to enter into it by giving the full path of a file existing in that in the address bar . but copying is not possible . i have uninstall the folder lock but still problem continues . even in safe mode it dont work . kindly tell me the solution except formatting .

okay, when i control panel and all that other good stuff, my computer wont let me out a picture as my desktop background or any of them in that scroll box on the left. It will only let me put a color. and i dont want color i want and actual desktop background.... anyone know whats wrong....or what to do? youll be best answer if your method works and 10 points =]

I need to wipe the scsi drive (including the boot sector) on my workstation, but am having trouble getting killdisk to work on my scsi drives. I can get the computer to boot with the killdisk CD, but I can't see my drives presumably because I haven't loaded the scsi drivers. Don't really know much about scsi... this is my first. Please give me specific steps.. PLEASE!
Also, is there another (possibly) tool besides killdisk that will accomplish this?

I accidently dropped about 1/4 to a 1/3 of a bottle of water onto my Dell laptop (Inspiron 6000) keyboard. I wiped it down and blow dried it, and everything was working okay until about 15-25 minutes later when the "delete"/"backspace" button stopped working. Can I fix this? What should I do?

Can somebody elaborate on the types of HDD. How many types of HDDs are there? I have heard that there are SATA and PATA HDDs. Also what is IDE? How can I know which type of HDD I have got in my computer? Is it possible through Device Manager.

either from some manufacturers custimization (Dell, HP, etc) or build it your self buying individual parts from new egg? I have an Intel motherboard, and it cannot boot. It has 256MB of RAM (1 module), an Intel Celeron D processor at 2.53Ghz.The power supply is functional, I am actually using the RAM right now to test if it works, (obviously it does), The CMOS battery is fine, I tired the processor in another socket 478 mobo and it works. What is wrong?
