it's starting not to shut down just couple weeks ago, may be after I install Microsoft Office, can this be the reason? for now nothing works, anyway, thanks everybody for help.

Can you be a little more specific as to when this happens? Does it restart right after it gets onto the log-in screen, or when?
Since I don't know what you're talking about, for now I'd suggest taking the battery out and putting it back it. That might stop it.

Let's assume you are talking about simply trying to shut down your laptop. On some computers, when you click on Start | Shutdown, you are presented with a shutdown menu. This menu will remember your last preference, which might have been Restart. Click the down arrow next to Restart and select Shutdown from the menu. Now, it will do a full shutdown.

Go to control panel, power options. Under the advanced tab, set the computer to shut down when you hit the power button. Then when your ready to shut the computer off, just hit the power button.

Well,
If it keeps doing this, it might be caused by a virus that may have changed your computers config file. Check your startup for any peculiar things that are found in the SYSTEM32 or SYSTEM folder by Going to "Start-->Run--> and type in MSCONFIG " to get into your startup.

you might have to reinstall your operating system. Get your Windows XP disc ready. Insert it, restart your computer, and then follow the instructions on screen. Good luck.
