I have a great imac at home and am soon going to get a macbook. I'm wondering if I can plug my macbook into my imac so that I can benefit from using the larger screen. Thanks in advance for any help you can provide.

I was wondering if there is a way to determine if a laptop battery is still good and can at least hold a charge without having the laptop it goes in. Like maybe with a voltmeter or something?? I'm just wondering because I have a Gateway Solo1400 Battery I want to sell on ebay cause the laptop is busted and I have no use for it. I dont want to sell it if it doesnt work though.

Hello everyone, i would like all your help. I'm bulding my AM2 computer. I just purchase a huge space hard drive. Seagate Barracuda SATA II 500Gb 3.0Gb/s @7200RPM. Should I use this hard drive as my only primary one or should i buy another smaller hard drive and use as a boot up system then use my 500Gb as my storage drive only? what do you guy think..please help.

One more thing, If you guy said i should buy another smaller hard drive, then how many RPM does it have to be and what brand do you guy think it the best.
I would very appreciate every help from all friends over the world.. thankyou.

i defragmented it like everyone was saying to, i uninstalled old programs and i uninstalled my norton antivirus that i had and am now using the one that came with SBC DSL's internet and another ad blocker thing, but it just seems that the computer is stressed out.. and i just got it like 2 years ago brand new..i dunno whats wrong with it

It sounds weird but i want to know if their is any disk of any sort i can put pictures on to print them off. Or any other way to do it. Because I kinda have an old printer and i got the special printer paper and everything but it still comes out with bad quality. Is their anyother way?

I bought a Powmax case w/ PS a few months ago. One word... Powmax=Junk...
With that said, my PS fizzled out awhile ago. Glad it didn't take my components with it. It literally started smoking!
The shipping cost were not worth replacing for another questionable PS under Powmax's lousy guarantee.
I need a reliable brand name PS of about 350w or better. Right now I am running P3 but I want the capability to upgrade to P4 so I also am looking for a 20/24 pin connector.
Shout out your preferred brand and where to get.
BTW, I like Tiger Direct. I just won't buy anything Powmax from them again.

i have windows ME, but just bought a dell dimension E521...with windows vista.
it came with a "belkin transfer cable" for use with transfering from XP to VISTA.......i dont have XP! what do i need to complete the transfer from old pc to new ????

general apps beyond gaming-music/video editing. cluster computers are networked.....I wonder if you can make a direct conection between multiple mobos(retrofit chipset,bios) and combine their resourses/power into one big computer that would work with apps just like any ordinary pc. the advantige in my mind is you could use pc parts that aren't good for much anymore and make them into a powerful computer for less money than a new high-end pc.

all i have left is a 1x pci-e slot
if you could give my pc a rating wat would you giv it
and wat do you think its worth

now for the hard part
im an avid gamer
and will probly only have 100 to spend for the next couple of weeks
what would be the best upgrade to get
a sata harddrive, a 128 mb pcie graphics card andbridge all 3, ram, or liquid cooling or there is also a ATi motherboard that i want

I recently decided to fix my Dell Dimension 4550 (p4 2.0GHz, !GB SDRAM 266MHz) which crashed about a year ago. First I put in a new hard drive (Maxtor 180) then I reinstalled XP. Once I saw the computer still worked I decided to upgrade it. I swapped out the 250W PSU with an Extreme Power 430W. Then I replaced the (broken) CD drive with a Mad Dog DVD burner. Then I put in a new soundcard (COMP USA cheapie). Everything was up and running and working fine. The next day I decided to teach myself how to set up a network and spent a few hours trying to get it to work. During those hours I probably restarted the computer ten times without any problems. Then I restarted it and got the "disc read error has occurred Press CTRL ALT DEL to restart" message. I initially thought my hard drive crashed again but I swapped it into an external case and attached it to my primary computer--and it worked fine. Now I simply have no idea what to do? Any suggestions?

I have a computer that I set "make this folder private" Some how after about two years later, my motherboard is bad. So, I set my hard drive to slave, connect to the other XP system and try to get my information out from my document. I cannot open it. The folder still protected. Then I try to set it on master hoping I can boot and logon, but my XP keep on rebooting. Any idea to get the information?
