if you guy look carefully that she want cheap PC that able to play Oblivion smoothly, that we need to know that you know how to buid up PC by yourself or not.
IF YOU KNOW how to build PC by your self there some website sale PC stuff really cheap than at the hardware store such as www.newegg.com or www.ebay.com zipzomfly.com. for video card.
MAY COST AROUND $900 - $1150 for perfect PC NOT BEST
if you don't know how to build PC than you can go directly to get www.dell.com desktop try to buy the one that have PCI-E SLOT with dual channel memory. then buy and do updrate video card and memory for youself. That's the way can cheaper.
MAY APPRAISE $650- $800. FOR MID HIGH END

CPU- AMD 64 3200+ UP or Intel pentium D 2.8ghz or up able to handle that game.
memory need at least 1.5gb to 2.0gb in dual channel.
BEWARE that there 2 type of memory ddr for or ddr2
video card is the most important thing for gaming. need at least Nvidia 7800gt+ up or ATI x1800xt or better.
I think vdeo card seem a little bit cheap now is NVIDIA 7900gs or 7950gt
ATI x1900xt or x1950xt seem alittle bit smoother.

Do not- use eBay.....

If you have computer experience, go to Newegg.com. Build a computer for $1500 or so, which is probably the least your going to be able to get to run oblivion on and actually not lag in some areas.

Buy the parts you need, do some research off message boards and ask around for parts. You need 2 gigs of ram, 8800GTS/GTX video card (two best out there, I have GTS-slightly cheaper), and you need a Duo Core processor.

Message boards you can try, overclockers.com, gamefaqs.com.
If you get any kind of computer off a company, I would suggest Sony. Dell is retarded and so is Alienware. HPs...are okay, but used for other things.

My advice is to just custom build, it is very very easy. Just buy your case, power supply (500w or higher), processor, mobo that fits your other parts, ram, video card, fans, sound card, and your good to go.

Really no where unless you play like Math blaster or something.
Computers that play games like call of duty cost thousands. Ebay would work but thers a 50 percent chance that the computer you want on ebay is a peice of crap.

if your budget is around $2300, then go to www.dell.com and buy an XPS M1710 with 17 inch display. For low budget XPS M1210 ($1300) is also very good but display is very small you can also buy dell inspiron 6400 for around $900. This is an excellent gaming machine.
