i need help with my cd-rom!?

for some reason it wont read my cds anymore! and it wont let me burn cds! can some one help me out?

1. Get a disc laser cleaning CD
2. Update the firmware with the manufacturer's website
3. Make sure all cables are seated tightly
4. Check in the "Device Manager" make sure it is being recognized by the PC... Good Luck
