and if so will i be able to play those games on my computers. i was thinking of doing it for the a game called the sims 2 because i don't want to use my computers main drives so could someone please fill me in.

Yes you can, you can even install it on different disk (not C:), but if you install it on an external then you need to have the drive connected and turned on so you can play, but you can just download it and install it on any drive.

Well you could. Thats certainly possible. Keep in mind that most external hard drives are connected to your computer via USB 2.0. Not the most desirable setup. Here's a better idea. Put more files from your computer to the external hard drive.

If you still want to put it on the external hd, then simply install it there and see what kind of performance you have. If you're happy with it, go ahead. Your computer won't simply catch on fire or explode. Best of luck.
