I have an older computer with a AMD processor that runs about 500Mhz, It was working fine a couple of weeks ago,
but when i tried to start it up,it says Hard Drive-None.
I tried everything i could think of,switching Hard Drives,Reinstalling SE,Booting into DOS,But nothing works. Whats going on? What can i do?

The port I pluged the flash drive into usually connects my ipod up to my PC just fine. What gives with either of my front 2 usb ports on my PC being power surged by the usb flash drive? Also I am using a usb extention cable too for easier port access does the extra cable decrese my performace too?.

My problem might have something to do with the sound.. I was able to put head or ear phones into an opening near my cd player, and didn't check today, but last I know, it didn't work. What might be my problem?

How well do you know the IBM thinkpad line. I used to own one but never understood the concept of 'docking station' for the laptops
do u knw why they have that and others dont?
Isnt that so bulky and what purpose does it serve? I'm considering purchasing an Lenovo X41 Tablet and it doesnt come with speakers or an optical drive. The only option is to purchase a heavy station that affixes to the tablet.

Explain why they hve it like that and not like other laptops which do not require docking stations.

This will be used with an xbox 360 to capture in game video and needs to have good quality. I can use firewire, usb or PCMCIA. I can't buy a new laptop with one built in so please don't suggest that.

I'm in Canada again for work and I want to buy a laptop while I'm here. I want to travel with it (all the hotel rooms I stay in have internet access).

I notice yahoo says this question was asked a few months ago but the person asking never said what they wanted it for. So......
I want to do yahoo e-mail, word perfect, download and crop photos from my 2 year old Kodak digital camera, burn photos onto a cd-r and maybe play a music cd with it.
I already have a separate portable dvd player so that's not an issue.

I'd prefer it costs less than $1,000 Canadian because I travel a lot and if it gets broken I don't want to be really bummed out.

I tried a Dell regular computer 2 years ago and had nothing but problems with it.... everything from keyboard supports breaking over and over to hard drive and program problems, monitor problems, a distaster. I won't ever get a Dell again.

every now and again a banner pops up on screen saying avg e-mail scanner auto pop3:connecting to pop3.tiscali.co.uk.
it doesnt seem to be doing any harm but it can be annoying as it keeps coming and going.been in avg control centre and removed the email scanner but warning keeps popping up. have also uninstalled then installed avg but its still there. any ideas?

I've re installed windows xp and now my usb 2.0 slots (PCI card) are running at USP1.1. I'm not sure how to get them recognized as 2.0 again. Any ideas?
