Is there a way to use the same monitor on two seperate computers without having to switch the cable back and forth? What would I need to do this? How would it work? Any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

What you would need is a device called a KVM switch. With that you can run two computers on one set of keyboard, mouse, and moniter. It has specific connectors that you will have to buy to attatch to the KVM switch but it reduces the hastle of switching back and forth all the time. A simple keystroke will allow you to switch from one computer to the other seamlessly. The KVM switch splits one VGA video cable which comes out of your moniter and two PS/2 or round mouse and keyboard connectors, between two computers. Research into them a bit, a cheap two port KVM switch is not that expensive on tigerdirect.com. Hope this helps and good luck.

Go to any computer store and ask for a device that can share one monitor with multiple computers.
