my computer kept running in a start up boot loop so i tried to reinstall win xp. the choice i picked (partitioning) was the worst possible install choice. it appears i lost everything. is their any way to recover those files? thanks for your help!!!!!

I have 4 drives total (Local disk C; Gateway D; Local disk E; and a floppy) BUT, I don't have my cd/dvd (gateway) or my cd burner (sony). I mean, they are in there, but not working and not being recognized. Thanks in advance for any help.

amd 3200+ 1.5 ram 180 mb HD.

my friend wants to wipe her hard drive clean because she says whenever she tries to run a scan to find and fix problems her computer shuts off. she wants to take it to her computer guy i told her she can do that herself. anyone have any info on how to do so?

Normal Port of keyboard of motherboard is damaged, so its not working .....What is the another way to connect keyboard instead of Normal port ?

Hi, I am having trouble with my hp omnibook. It cannot run on the battery, it only runs on the power cord. I had every intention on getting a new battery, but while i was looking someone told me you can test some with a button on the side. i tried it and it said it was fully charged. I looked it up in the power management section of the computer (stupid me didn't think to check it before) and it said the attery was fully charged, i took it out for about 10 minutes and put it back in, and it said it was 24% charged and then charged to 100% in about 5 minutes. I thought that was weird. Can anyone help me???

My R3000 ac adapter port on the back of my laptop has a broken pin where you plug it in. So I cannot charge my battery or get ac power. I'm buying a new laptop but want to get old info off this laptop. HP/Compaq has been no help since now my laptop is out of warranty by 40 days. I even asked to buy a fully charged battery from them. All they keep suggesting is that I buy a new one or pay $500+ to repair this one. If someone could help I would pay for shipping the battery to me and shipping it back. I would need 2 days to use it. Thanks in advance to anyone who can help me out and understand my problem.
