It fits the computers USB 1 ports fine. Granted I'm an older man and my eyesight isn't what it use to be, but the cable fits the old ports but not the new ones. The LOOK alike.

1. What is an average price range for a basic Mac - I mainly want to do online surfing and some basic word processing.

2. How are they with photos?

3. Do you know about the Mac book they have? Where you can upload photos to them and even add text to create a story - they charge about $30 and you get a hardbound book with everything you uploaded? Have you done it? Were you satisfied?

4. How hard would it be for a long-time "regular" PC user to switch to a Mac?

5. What are its biggest drawbacks?

Thanks.

I just restored my computer last week and noticed a small amount of compressed old files. I couldn't determine what they were and now I'm worried that they could have been important. Every thing seems to be running just fine but I'm wondering if I need to do a system restore again. Thanks!

What do the numbers mean? 4 - 4 - 8---- 3 - 3 - 8 ...etc.
What do each represent, and what is better, higher or lower number?

The number sets I found when I ran CPU-z. Ive seen them before, and Ive seen people talk about them, but I dont know what they mean. Here is what the numbers are next to...

RAS# to CAS# - 4
RAS# Precharge - 4
Tras - 8

And the other numbers are for another ram piece.

When I am buying software, on the box it says minimum RAM (random access memory) colin followed by a number (64MB, 128MB, 256MB, 512MB, 1024MB (1 gigabyte), or 2048MB (2 gigabytes). Does that mean overall system memory or how much memory is needed for that specific program?

First the hinges on my laptop broke, then a few weeks later it started turning off (losing its power supply) whenever I moved it, and then the next day, it lost power and I haven't been able to turn it on again since.
Is it possible for me to retrieve files from the broken laptop simply by connecting it to my new laptop, or am I going to have to open up the old laptop and take out the hard drive?

I have over 350 CDs and growing, and almost 350 DVDS. I've tried all of the "case logic" type things but they go up to 350 and my collection keeps growing. I need an easy sort of catologuing system (preferably portable) to house my large collection - any ideas?
