I have over 350 CDs and growing, and almost 350 DVDS. I've tried all of the "case logic" type things but they go up to 350 and my collection keeps growing. I need an easy sort of catologuing system (preferably portable) to house my large collection - any ideas?

I already have all of them on my computer, I'm talking about where I can store the actual hard items.

For myself -- and I do have more than 350 DVDs, I purchased 2 of the Sony 400 disc mega-changers for DVDs -- and connected them up to my TV set.

As far as developing a catalogue of the DVDs -- have you tried sorting them by MPAA Rating (G - PG - PG-13 - R) and I also put the Disney ones together (I like the Disney movies a lot -- so have a large number of them).

After I did this initial sort (Alphabetical Order), I used my Spreadsheet to mark the location of each of the DVDs -- and numbered the slots on my changers from 1 to 400, 401 to 800. YOU can do the same with your Case Logic Cases -- Just write a number on each of the slots to place a DVD in (1 to whatever) -- and use that number in the first column of your spreadsheet -- and the titles of the DVD in that slot in the 2nd Column (right next to the slot number it is in in the case).

This way, I ALWAYS have a current listing of my DVDs with me (I carry that listing on my PDA as well) -- so that when I see something I like -- then I can purchase it with the confidence that I do not already have it in my collection.

I think the best way is open an account with Youtube.com and upload all your CD/DVDs. Your collection is sitting on the server without paying a single pennie. You can access them when ever you want and as well as download them.Hope my suggestion makes sense.
