It fits the computers USB 1 ports fine. Granted I'm an older man and my eyesight isn't what it use to be, but the cable fits the old ports but not the new ones. The LOOK alike.

USB cables don't just "not fit." USB cables and ports are all the same size, 2.0 or 1.0. Something's wrong somewhere.

sounds like you might have purchased firewire and not usb. The cable for usb from 1.1 to 2.0 is the same.

I know it sounds silly to suggest, but have you tried turning the connector 180 degrees?

check see if its a fire usb connection, they are different,or go back to best buy and talk to the techs get right one.

Is it upside down?
Also wiggle it a bit to go in...sometimes it is tight fitting.
