Can anyone advise me where I can buy one cheap. I have bought a printer without the cable.

Printers and many other usb devices use a usb cable called "A to B" usb cable, one end will be square with one rounded edge and the other will look like a normal usb connector. You can find these cables at any retailer of computer parts. Radioshack, Bestbuy, Circuitcity, etc. Good luck with your new printer.

just buy an extension cable on general computer shop which math with the male socket in USB printer port and male socket in USB at your motherboard.

I got a universal USB Printer cable at WAL-MART for $6.00 bucks in there computer section.

You mean the power cable??? Or the usb to connect to the computer...the power cable should be with it...usb...you can just get them from supermarkets now...eg biggish tescos or sainsburys.
