It's a pretty safe bet you will get a Mac of excellent quality in the U.S. We have laws that prevent products from being knock-offs. You will be getting a real Macintosh. Not to mention, their headquarters are here.

Due to the currency exchange rate, you might want wait till you get to the United States to buy a Mac book.

I think that in the US it's working on other frequencies than in the UK. It would be safer to ask an apple dealer or apple.com. Say that you have an american friend who want's to give you one :-)
