i just bought a computer from a estate sale. it is is sleep mode. and i do not know how to get it out. it is a compaq presario. the light on the monitor is green for a second, then turns back to orange. anyone know what to do?

the only thing i found on a hdd for the psp was some year old rumor about a 50 gb, and a 4gb hard drive which is point-less to buy since there are 4gb memory cards availible. Maybe some one out there found a way to combine a bunch of memory cards to make a big one or something. I am asking cause I know popular science had a thing about turning a regular 80gb hdd into a usb jump drive.

I have a folder I need to remove the read only property?
It's on my desktop. Properties say it is read only. I keep taking it off, it keeps putting it back on. Arg
I right click, properties. I see read only is marked, I remove that. apply to all folders. Dont. I right click, its stil read only

i have a amd 1.8 ghz, nvidia FX 5200 256mb, 1gb ram. whenever i am playing a game the whole computer just randomely freeze. for example even the lights on keyboard just freeze ( num lock button ). and i have to reset it. any help would be appreciated.

The internal DVD burner of my desktop computer has stopped working. When I place any kind of disc (DVD, CD, music or data) in, the computer asks me to insert a disc. I have reason to believe this is a hardware problem. The manufacturer, however, says they can not be sure that it is not a software problem, that one or more of my Windows files could be corrupted. They say if I send the computer in for service the first thing they will do is reformat the hard disk. To me this is like shooting the side of a barn with a cannon. I don't particularly want to do that. What I thought I would do instead is purchase an inexpensive external DVD burner and see if that solves the problem. Does this make sense to you or am I barking up the wrong tree so to speak?
