Why when I'm using my computer does it sometimes sound as if I'm burning a C D is this normal or is it faulty

its the fan some drives need cooling more than others just make sure you have enough air space between them all

that's probably a fan. It is need to cool down the processor.

my laptop does too, always has, it's the fan, quite normal.
