I've been having system stability problems and at this point the only things I haven't changed out are the motherboard and processor. I'm suspecting the motherboard and am planning on replacing it. Currently I have an ECS KN1 LSI Lite and I am thinking of replacing it with an ASUS A8N-SLI Deluxe. I've heard that such a radical change in hardware will require at least a re-activation of WIndows XP Pro and at most a complete re-install. What have been your experiences with this?

Also I've checked my volume control and its fine and also the cords on the back of my tower is fine too, but why is it not working? There is absolutley no sound at all...hmmm.

my motherboard is a -NEC INT. SiS651 1.x - which is AGP x4. could someone tell me what the best Grafix card would be for it?
Would any AGP x8 card work, I know that some times there may be issues with voltages.

I bought a computer from a guy that refurbishes them. It came with windows 2000 installed BUT it did not include driver. I thought I could just do a system restore like with my pc that runs XP but I discovered 2000 does not HAVE a system restore option. I have nothing important on it and it would be just fine to format the whole thing. And after formatting can I use my installation driver from my 'other' pc that has the XP version on the newly formatted pc?

Ive got a fairly decent pc, 2.8 mghz,140 gig hard drive space,512 mb ram ( am planning to add at least another 512 next weekend). Ive got an ATI Raedeon graphics card, the 9200. I want a decent upgrade, one that will allow me to play most of the newest games on the market, and to be able to cope with 3d design packages like Maya and Autocad. I already have a 128 Mb memory installed. Am i suppose to take it out or leave in. Is there gonna alot of wires to take apart and stuff?

I have an Inspiron b130 and I broke th letter "N" the top came off but the springy-thing is still there.
But the number seven is completely gone and only the rubber part is left.
Know anywhere I can just purchase those missing buttons and not have to replace the whole keyboard.THanks
