I bought a computer from a guy that refurbishes them. It came with windows 2000 installed BUT it did not include driver. I thought I could just do a system restore like with my pc that runs XP but I discovered 2000 does not HAVE a system restore option. I have nothing important on it and it would be just fine to format the whole thing. And after formatting can I use my installation driver from my 'other' pc that has the XP version on the newly formatted pc?

No, if you are even able to get the XP installation disk to work in your Win2000 machine, you will not be able to activate it and XP will cease two function after a few weeks. If you are missing a driver, just download it from the manufacture or driverguides.com.

you have to format it by going to your bios first...and choose the option boot from cd drive. then put that cd and restart...then you can format it by following the installation process.
