Since last night, whenever i start my computer, it turns on and does the whole loading thing, then it gets a blue screen with:

Stop: c000021a {Fatal System Error}
The Windows Logon system terminated unexpectedly with a status of 0x00000080 (0x00000000 0x00000000).
The system has shut down.

Help would be apreciated.

Which would result in a longer backlight life: leave it on all day, or to turn the power saver mode to sleep the screen frequently... say on/off cycles 20 times in an 8 hour work day (with maybe only 1-2 hours of total on time). Basically, does cycling the backlight on and off reduce its life, and if I turn it on, is it bad to turn it off again quickly?

I just bought this computer and it got struck by lightning while i was away and it burned the motherboard and proccesr up so i just ordered a new one identical to it with everything the same so can i use this harddrive on my new computer as the main drive so it will start up and be pretty much the same computer as before or will i just have to put it in there and use it as a slave drive?

I have a PC. The hard drive is four years old. It's in sleep mode, meaning all lights are orange--monitor and hard drive. I've tried turning it off and back on, rebooting it with a floppy, continuously pressing F8....nothing works. What can I do? My CD Rom drive doesn't work.

Im having problems with my current HD that my current version on XP Home is installed on.
I have a new HD in a box.
I went to Compaq site and saw they offered a recovery disc for my coputer XP service pack 2 for $15.
My main thing I was going to do is basically burn my important files on a disc, and then trash the old troublesome Hard Drive and get the recovery CD and Recover my system to the new Hard Drive.
Will that work?
Better yet, does everyone understand what Im trying to do?
I may have a worm or something, dont know why the hard drive is acting up, but I dont want to connect the new hard drive up when the old one is in there at the same time.

i got 2 hard drives on my pc, when i try to boot with the hard i got problem,a blue screen appears and the pc restarts and so on,when i boot with the other hard,the disk drive for example D appears but when i click on it there's that message insert volume serial number,do i have to format this hard? and is there any solution to save the data on it?

A year and a half ago I bought an XPS 9100 with all the extras. It has the p4 3.4 HT Extreme Edition, 2GBram @400MHz and a 256 MG 9800 ATI Radeon video card. I do a lot of video editing and I am happy with the system however a week ago it fell about 20 feet. I am concidering getting it fixed but really want a new system. I am looking at the new XPS M2010 and they only offer the Intel.

Intel® Core® T2600 Duo proc (2.16GHz/667MHz/2 X 1MB L2 Cache)

Intel® Core® T2500 Duo Proc (2GHz/667MHz/2 X 1MB L2 Cache)

Intel® Core® T2700 Processor (2.33GHz/667MHz/1 X 2MB L2 Cache)

How will this compare to the Extrem Edition I had with the same video card and 4GB of ram @ 667MHz? And how important is it that you use memory that runs at the same clock speed as the front side bus?

Please geve me answers in plain english because I am no tech guru. I just know that the p4 3.4 HT EE sounds faster than the intel 2.??
