OK, major issue here. We have a Dell Dimension E510, and it just plain refuses to start-up, it only displays the big blue "DELL" text, and the progress bar at the bottom.

I called Dell, and they told me to unplug everything, and remove the memory cards. Now when I try to boot up the computer, there are six annoying beeps, then nothing.

If it matters, we got this computer three months ago, and it has Windows XP Media Center. No new hardware or anything like that, just randomly broke :(

I have two hard drives. I have a lot of games on my C drive, so I install most everything else onto D. Lately, when I've tried to install something into D: Program Files, it says it can't create a directory and that I don't have access, an Error 05 code or something. Why is it doing this?

I have a file that someone downloaded and i cant get rid of it! i have tried deleting it and moving it but it wont do anything. i went on properties to see if its a read only file but its not. its not checked. what is it and how do i delete it? do i need to completely wipe my computer just to get rid of one file? is it a virus if it doesnt delete? please help! its really annoying me!! please give simple instructions lol thanks! x

My Western Digital HDD model 2500JD is giving up on me. :((
I want ot buy a new HDD but don't know for which brand should I go...hm...I heard Maxtor is good also Seagate, but Seagate are very cheap=(in my opinion) low performance. I want a ATA133 based drive with built-in windows recognisence. I say this because I headr the Maxtor need some special drivers so that WinXP can recognize it. I don't have that much money to spend, but I would rather buy a small capacity but highly reliable HDD, than a crapy big sized HDD. I am really stuned because I knew that WD are top of the line HDDs, and now it's giving up on me, although I had it for 6 months. What advice would you give me?
My system is not an old one, it's just 6 months old:MB=Asus A8N-SLI DELUXE, CPU=AMD Athlon 64 3500+ Clawhammer core, RAM=Kingmax PC3200 512Mb*4=2Gb, VGA=Asus 6600LE/256 MB, Greentech power source 450W.

I am a student and I'm looking for a notebook that is going to last me and provide all the lil neat personal stuff too( photos, account managing), I get a discount from Dell from my school but I want to know why is mac better, and if not which one is best. I need less chance of getting infected, wireless access, and a long list of of college programs I am going to put on my desktop.I'm not trying to spend over 1800 if I can help it. I just installed a wrong bios on my pc! but its working... atleast... I have a backup of my bios in win flash but when I try to flash it back i recieve this error message "flash block erase failure!" and the worst part is my pc can't detect my floppy drive due to the wrong bios...
