What happens when you try to delete it?

You might want to delete it in DOS command prompt instead. Restart your computer and then hit F8 before the Windows logo comes up, then start up in safe mode, but choose the option to start up in DOS mode.

Then just use the cd command to browse to that directory where the file is at, and then just use the command del to get rid of the file.

You got some very good answers above, so I won't add my 2 cents. What I do want to add is that you can't blame the computer because you don't know how to handle it. The computer's a machine, luv, and it does what YOU tell it to do, and if something doesn't work, it's up to YOU to take alternative actions. In most cases, the root of the Problem Exists Between Keyboard And Chair :)

I can do better than that, A link to a free program that will remove the file when you reboot. Download the program, run it, select the file you want to remove and then reboot your computer. Voila! it's gone. I've used it to great satisfaction. Good luck!

Depends on what it says when you try to remove it, If it says: The file may still be in use, try close a few programs down if that doesn't work try getting anitvirus to see if it IS a virus. If it still doesn't get rid of it try getting speciallist help.

Go with MoveOnBoot that has been already recommended for you - I have also used this program to successfully remove a file that I couldn't delete conventionally

boot into safe mode
1)use you antivirus software if it finds it delete it
reboot if it comes back
2)turn of system restore
reboot back to safe mode and try again (1)
some viruses attach to system restore and keep coming back
