i am looking to build a nvidia 7900+ SLI computer with a socket 939 AMD processor and 2GB of ram at DDR400... what kind of qualities should i look for when purchasing my motherboard? specific brands maybe? please help me out i know VERY LITTLE of motherboards. spill out all the information u got i dont mind reading if u know wat ur talkin about! thanks.

I want to download my analog movies from my videocamera, 8mm, to the computer thru my capture device. However, when I plug it into my computer it says my USB connections are too slow, I need a high speed one. Cant it still work but only slower, I dont care if it takes all night to download the stupid video content! Please explain, thanks you in advance.

I dropped my laptop. When I turn it on it says "Hard drive not found" and won't load any further. I want to take it into a computer repair place (I don't care about the cost because there are digital pictures that are very sentimental to me on my HD that I never had the time to back-up-- I'll never make that mistake again!) but I don't know if I should even get my hopes up that it could possibly be repaired as it sounds like something is broken inside the drive by the clicking noise it is making. Can a computer repair place fix a hard drive that is actually broken inside?

I'm trying to make my old internal hard drive an external one by putting it in an enclosure. which side are they measuring. my drive measures 4 in x 5.75 in and .75 thick. so which size enclosure will work for mine? It is Maxtor model 34098h4 if anyone know what that means.

If I want a good home laptop to use for Quicken, Office, etc. as well as some photo and DVD editing, should I go with a cheaper Turion 64 chipset versus the more expensive Intel dual core options? The Turion is about $150 cheaper and is 64 bit ready (for what that's worth) - but the multi-threading may be better performance even if I'm not doing heavy multi-tasking. Thoughts?

I just reinstalled widows os, on new hard drive and new board. Windows locks up mouse freezes. Powers up but occasionally freezes. Did this with another MB and raid hard drives. Only thing in common on both systems, CPU, Power supply, and video card. It's driving me nuts.

One of my DVD+RW disks suddenly went bad. I used it for several months, then suddenly a zero byte file named "Non-Allocatable Space" appeared. I reformatted the disk, and its properties show 4.7GB of used space and zero bytes of free space.

I have erased and formatted several times with no success. I moved my data on to a new DVD+RW disk without problems. Why did my first disk go bad?
Can I return the disk to the manufacturer and claim that it was defective? I think Memorex disks have a lifetime warranty.

I'm using Win XP with InCD 4.3.0.5.

In Task Manager on laptop, System is running close to 100%. System Idle is virtually not used. Been in registry and everything ok. Scanned for viruses, worms, etc, nada. Did replace hard drive recently. Computer still works, but running extremely inefficiently. Any thoughts?

When I try to install my USB PCI Card, a box pop up that says that it doesn't have a Windows logo and the driver has not been signed and I can stop the installation or continue, and when I continue it doesn't work. this is getting SO darn irritating. okay i plugged in this headset with microphone on it but its not working on the computer. i dont even know how to check if the computer recognizes this or what. i went into the volume control and stuff and turned it on and unchecked mute but its still not working. i went to sound recorder and tried to test it but no sound came up. i need help. i dont even know how to find my device on the computer. cause i dont know what the computer calls it and stuff HELP PLEASE
