I can access the internet through a wireless connection but I can't access my work email. I get "cannot display the webpage error" When I use a dial up connection I don't have this problem. Is there a setting I need to change? Any suggestions are appreciated.

I have a D-Link USB Adapter. I have been picking up my neighbor's wireless router signal for many months and it has been working great.

I just purchased a new computer and when I moved my adapter to this computer, it won't connect saying "Limited or no connectivity". This is crazy because it continues to work great on the old computer.

Is there some sort of setting or something that's causing this problem?

For example, in a NAT config file, I see options with values like:

192.168.0.0/24 and
192.168.0.1/32

So what do the 24 and the 32 mean? Do they indicate ranges of IP addresses?

I recently got new ISP service and couldn't get a signal through my router, so I directly connected one computer to the modem and it worked. Went back to connect to the router to the network then into my computer, and it didnt work again. So I went into my router to tinker around and I came across one setting with the option of using "DHCP or use specified IP address" (for the router). It was originally click on use ip address, then i clicked use DHCP. Now I cannot access my router anymore. the IP is different for the router, and I have no idea what it is. I've checked the IP I was getting through CMD>ipconfig and saw it was the ISP's IP address, not my router. I have also tried resetting the router by itself, but to no avail. Can anyone help me? I held the reset button on the router for more than 30 secs, and it still has the same problem. Is there any way to find out the new IP address of the router, since it is not the original anymore? THANKS. Real answers only please.

I have just made a BartPE bootable usb drive. I am trying to map a network drive to it. My network is a few servers (Windows Server 2003) and a bunch of computers (Windows XP). The drive I am trying to connect it to is on an XP machine. It works just fine, but then when I attempt to look at that drive, I get an "Access is denied" error. I tried mapping the drive using different credentials, and got the same result. I would appreciate any advice on how I can access the drive I mapped.

under network connections on my computer where it has the type of connection, status, and device name...the status is something like "connected, firewall, shared" and the device name is "linksys" something or other. what does "shared" mean? I am NOT sharing internet connection with any other computer. I know linksys makes routers...but there is no linksys router connected to the computer! my brother has attempted to hook up a linksys router so his desktop can share internet with my computer but he hasnt had any luck and i think he has installed the software for the router on the computer. do i have to get rid of the "shared" and the "linksys" so i can hook up my own router? If i do, how to i do it?
